About Larceny
Larceny Kentucky Straight Bourbon has its origins in the history of John E. Fitzgerald and the Old Fitzgerald brand. Our Master Distillers select a limited number of barrels from specific floor locations in the rickhouse for Larceny’s six-year-old taste profile. Continuing the tradition of Old Fitzgerald using wheat in place of rye as the secondary grain in the mashbill, Larceny uses more wheat than any of its competitors for a softer, rounder character. Larceny is one among a family of our one-of-a-kind wheated Bourbons including Larceny Small Batch, Larceny Barrel Proof and Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond.
Larceny Barrel Proof is the first line-extension of the Larceny Family and offers whiskey aficionados an opportunity to experience our Bourbon as our distillers do: straight out of the barrel. First released in January 2020, each release consists of f 6 to 8-year-old Bourbon bottled at barrel proof and non-chill filtered to showcase a deeper character, richness and depth of flavor. Like Small Batch, Larceny Barrel Proof is made with 25% more wheat than competitors for a smoother taste. It tastes of rich molasses that coats the tongue, with notes of fig and hazelnut. Its nuanced flavor fades into lingering warmth. Larceny Barrel Proof is the first Wheated Bourbon to ever be named Whisky Advocate's “Whisky of the Year” in 2020.
