The Glenlivet 18 Year Old is finished through a combination of first- and second-fill American oak casks, which add tropical fruitiness to the liquid, and ex-Sherry oak casks, which add a spicy complexity. The result is a gorgeous single malt scotch whisky that is complex, yet elegant and balanced.
About The Glenlivet
In 1824, a businessman named George Smith applied for one of the first licenses in the Speyside region of Scotland and opened the doors to The Glenlivet Distillery. Glenlivet, translated from Gaelic, means “valley of the smooth flowing one” and is most likely referencing the nearby River Livet.
