Famous Latitude, Fruity Soul: Jaboulet Parallèle 45 Côtes‑du‑Rhône Rouge
This flagship bottling from Paul Jaboulet Aîné delivers approachable Rhône charm with surprising depth—and it’s named for the 45th parallel, which runs just two kilometers from the winery in Tain‑l’Hermitage, France. The wine is made from organic, 40‑year‑old Grenache (≈60%) and Syrah (≈40%) vines planted in clay‑limestone soils dotted with rounded pebbles.
Juicy, Balanced, and Crowd‑Friendly
The wine pours a garnet-red hue with a youthful, dark‑fruited bouquet. On the nose, expect generous notes of strawberry, red currant, peony blossom, and dried roses—layered over hints of thyme, bay leaf, and baking spice.
Bright fruit carries through on the palate with ripe cherry and raspberry, peppered with black licorice and sandalwood spice. Soft, refined tannins frame a balanced medium body, finishing dry and long with echoes of incense and cracked black pepper.
