About Bushmills
Bushmills is not only Ireland’s oldest whiskey distillery, it’s the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, having passed down its whiskey-making tradition since 1608. The “Old Bushmills Distillery” triple-distills 100% malted barley in traditional Irish copper pot stills and has done so for longer than any other distillery, making Bushmills the Original Single Malt Whiskey maker.
For this release, Bushmills’ signature single malt whiskey was triple-distilled on October 31 of 1991, where it was then aged in hand-selected bourbon and sherry casks for 13 years and four months, before marrying and continuing its maturation in three “first fill” Madeira wine casks in February of 2005. Using only the finest Irish barley, our proprietary, traditional Irish copper pots and hand-selected casks for aging, this whiskey showcases Bushmills's unparalleled expertise as a single malt distillery. Both non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength, the whiskey achieves exceptional depth of flavor.
