Antinori Tignanello is a groundbreaking Super‑Tuscany classic born in the early 1970s. It broke tradition by blending predominantly Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and aging in small oak barriques—unconventional at the time, but it forever changed Italian winemaking. The wine is produced exclusively from the limestone-rich Tignanello vineyard between Montefiridolfi and Chianti, and its creation marked a pivotal shift from Chianti Classico norms.
From vintage to vintage, Tignanello delivers a seductive bouquet of cherry, plum, violet, and spice layered with subtle notes of tobacco, licorice, and earthy herb. On the palate it’s balanced and structured: silky tannins carry flavors of red and blue fruit with a savory undercurrent and a long, nuanced finish. Elegance, warmth, and aging potential define this wine, making it a standout both for today’s enjoyment and cellar-worthy collecting.
